Environmental Awareness

The Environmental Awareness Officer provides a programme of awareness raising campaigns in County Wicklow promoting environmental responsibility and stewardship.

Environmental Awareness is a service providing information and support to the public on the environment.  It plays a role in the delivery of Wicklow County Council ‘s activities to protect our local environment, promoting environmental responsibility and stewardship. It is part of the Climate Action Team of Wicklow County Council.

The office works closely with schools, community groups and businesses throughout the County to promote better waste management, waste prevention with the circular economy; action on Climate; Sustainable Energy Communities; litter awareness and environmental protection. The Environmental Awareness Officer works on the development of policy and demonstration projects in the County. The work of the Environmental Awareness Office links up with service delivery across all sections of Wicklow County Council and with external stakeholders.
