Wicklow County Council has recommenced work on the National Transport Authority project in Delgany Village upgrading the junction of the R-762 and Bellevue Hill.
The project will improve pedestrian accessibility and safety and enhance village centre aesthetics by widening and landscaping the paved pedestrian areas, upgrading public transport facilities, undergrounding services and upgrading public lighting.
A new tabletop ramp will be installed across the junction to slow traffic on all approaches, whilst landscaping such as trees, benches and new paving will be installed in the larger pedestrian areas. An image showing an outline design for the scheme has been provided below.
The project will take approximately 14 weeks to complete. A traffic management system will be in place for the duration of the works.
Motorists are advised to expect delays and to choose an alternative route if possible.
